Huge fonts with nvidia proprietary drivers on Fedora

I've decided to move from open-source video drivers to Nvidia proprietary to get better performance and notebook battery-life. To do so I've installed the drivers using

sudo yum install kmod-nvidia-$(uname -r).

After restarting Xorg everything seemed ok - the new driver was loaded without Xorg crashing etc. Unfortunately I've noticed that some of the system fonts got bigger than expected. The resolution was ok so it must have been the DPI. Running

xdpyinfo | grep resolution

returned the resolution: 143x144 dots per inch. As I prefer smaller fonts I've entered the KDE System Setting to search for DPI settings. Finally I've found them in System Settings > Application Appearance > Fonts > Force Fonts DPI . Setting this value to 96 fixed my problem.
